Our 10 Favorite North + Central Alabama Venues

There are so many venues out there it’s HARD to choose! Well we’ve been to a LOT so we feel we have some insider insight and wanted to share these details with you. This list is in no particular order. All 10 are equally amazing . I will say this though… if the venue you’re hoping to see is not LGBTQ+ friendly or includes the plantation in their SEO well then you might as well expect to be disappointed because it’s NOT here . That simply doesn’t align with our core values and there’s far better places that do! So let’s get to it!

White Azalea - Amandalyn Photo

  1. White Azalea Estate. This rustic meets modern venue space can really be transformed into any vision. It has nods of more “rustic” without being a barn and modern without feeling cold. Truly a space just waiting for your personality. We love the getting ready suite because it’s BIG with LOTS of natural light, ample flat surfaces, outlets and mirrors. Rarely do we get to experience a wedding suite that checks all of our boxes and doesn’t miss the mark on any of them. Oh and the whole team at White Azalea Estate are just so sweet! It’s really unlike any other venue around. Located in Harvest AL outside of Huntsville.

2. Lowe Mill. Now this is not your “traditional” wedding venue but what does that even mean or matter really? It is an old mill that’s been converted to shops, art galleries and an event space. It has an old industry vibe that oozes history and memories as if the space is itself living. We love the architectural details and moody lighting. The thing is you can’t actually get ready there. Fear not thought there’s ample hotels, airbnbs or even your home nearby. Located in Huntsville, AL.

3. Gabrella Manor. This venue feels like your stepping back in time and also to a different country perhaps. Old world charm that’s both Tuscan and Transyvanian. With lush ivy and twinkle lights it gushes romance in the most “Morticia and Adam Gomez” way possible which we are here 110% here for! The wedding suite is upstairs but the stairs are minimal and the staircase is wide. The wedding suite is an almost entire upstairs floor so talk about AMPLE space with verandas to boot. Located at the north end of Birmingham AL.

4. Tune Farm. A craftsman style farm house that has been beautiful maintained and resides quietly amongst peaceful acreage . If you’re looking for a quite, quaint, down to earth intimate celebration this is the place for you. A super unique feature is the dirt floor barn space with built in pews and ceremony space. Trust us when we say it feels like time stands still in simplicity. The getting ready space is flexible and there’s a few options but you have ample lighting, flat surfaces and outlets. Located in Faulkville AL.

5. Ross Bridge Birmingham Renaissance. Talk about an EXPANSIVE space. Having a large wedding? This is the space for you ! Though they can accommodate small ones too. The lodging onsite back up to the rolling hills of a Robert J Trent golf course and while I by no means am a golf person ( sorry) I know that’s good one and a big deal. We love this space because parking is so easy, staff is always friendly and the the rooms where everyone is getting ready easily accommodate all of our needs as beauty pros. Plus with it being a hotel resort there is flexibility with start times which is nice if you have a larger crew. Located just southwest of Birmingham in Homewood AL.

6. Mountain View Gardens. Sitting upon a mountain top is this venue with vistas for miles! They are accommodating, flexible and welcoming for vendors coming to their space and the getting ready space is massive. Think the size of a small storefront. So no matter how many people you have hanging out for the morning you won’t be cramped. There’s large windows fr ample lighting just be aware where other people ( who perhaps aren’t supposed to see the marrier yet) are since you are ground level. There’s ample outlets but I do advise bringing a small table for items if you have a lot. Located in Springville AL.

7. Lumi. Want a intimate wedding right in the buzz of things? Then Lumi is your spot. It’s industrial modern but warm with historic charm. Think of expose whitewashed brick, metals and grand vintage windows. Similar to Lowe Mill in it’s aesthetic but as a designated venue you do have a bit more privacy and can even rent the space for a whole weekend. There’s lots of flexibility to get ready on location or even offsite depending what package you decided with the venue. Options are endless and who doesn’t love choices? Located right in the heart of Birmingham AL.

8. Gunrunner Boutique Hotel. It’s moody and eclectic and edgy but welcoming and utterly fantastic. It’s really hard to perfectly describe the vibe of Gunrunner but just take a look and trust me it’s a vibe all it’s own. A vibe that if it resonates with you will be an immediate click. We LOVE how authentically unique it is plus that it checks all the boxes we need. Easy access, great lighting and easy space to get ready in. What more could you ask for? Located in Florence AL.

9. Spring House. A fine dining restaurant that you can entirely rent out for special events. There’s even lodging on location! This space checks all the boxes and makes things easy. No one wants to have to traverse all around Lake Martin for various things so having the ease of it all in one location is priceless. Ample options of space to get ready in with excellent lighting and you have a beautiful view while working . So relaxing for all involved. Located in Alexander City AL on Lake Martin.

10. Red Gates at Kelly Creek. Nestled between cities you have this beautiful venue and property that quite, easily accessible and oodles of options. Some venues that are tucked away take a trek to get there but this is located in proximity to so much that you’ll be delighted you chose it ! The getting ready suite has ample options to accommodate parties of various sizes and lots of lighting . There’s really not a bad spot! The venue has lots of options for where the ceremony, photos, etc will be so if you like having your photo moments and squeezing every bit of the day this is ideal. Everyone was so gracious and welcoming. Located in Odenville AL.

Bonus place! Oakleaf Cottage. Ok, so technically, its in Georgia but it’s just across the border and really is one of the absolute best we just could leave them off this list! Nestled up in the mountains you feel in another world and the space is entirely customizable. Each wedding we’ve been a part of has been equally incredible. The getting ready space is an old house perched above it all and has ample space for us to provide hair and makeup services while everyone else can also relax that morning. The staff communicates fantastically. Perhaps one of my favorite things is how eco-conscious the venue is. They’re actually certified in sustainability with all their efforts! Located in Trenton GA.

Phew that’s a lot of incredible places! I don’t know if we made it harder or easier to choose from but any of these locations would be an excellent choice. Are you/did you getting married at one of these venues? Did I miss one you feel I NEED to know about? Let me know! We’re so grateful for every wedding we have had the opportunity to provide services for at these locations and look forward to many more! ( As a reminder all of these venues ARE LGBTQ+ inclusive).
